Stockport County Community Sports & Education Foundation volunteered alongside local businesses and www.ilovecheadlehulme.com to Paint Cheadle Hulme Pink to raise funds for Prevent Breast Cancer in an amazing series of events in October. The project which brought the Community together for this worthy cause saw over 60 local businesses, shops, restaurants and pubs join in with many volunteers marching in a Pink Parade through Cheadle Hulme which was decked out in Pink flags and ribbons everywhere as a sign of support for this fantastic community project.

Directors and sports coaches from County's Community Charity marched in the Pink Parade, helped as fashion models and joined in bag packing at the Asda supermarket in Cheadle Hulme collecting donations at the busy artisan market in Cheadle Hulme Precinct organised by Julie Peacock of Pets Corner.

Vice Chairman of County's Community Foundation Helen Foster-Grime was full of praise for this unique project, " Well done to the Paint Cheadle Hulme Pink Team led by Suzanna Dhawan of Prevent Breast Cancer with Wendy Green and Kate Godfrey of ilovecheadlehulme and Julie Peacock at Pets Corner. It's no mean feat pulling together the biggest public event we've had in Cheadle Hulme for years and we're looking forward to making this an annual event! All the local groups, guides, scouts, brownies and Friends of Oak Meadow Park plus many more embraced the party atmosphere and Dave, Ethan and our team even made it back for the second half of the match to watch County win again! "

Alexandra Banham, Director of the Community Foundation was delighted with the unprecedented support from the public, " We were really impressed as hundreds of people lined the roads cheering and waving as they all joined in the carnival spirit. We were so pleased to be able to represent Stockport County in Painting Cheadle Hulme Pink at several events even having fun modelling at the fashion show at Gusto Restaurant and at popular County fan, Linda Lam's great charity Rainbow88 night on the Sunday."

Stockport County staff and fans alike enjoyed supporting the other Paint Cheadle Hulme Pink week events from the great Quiz night at John Millingtons to the Mamma Mia Night at the Governor's House not to mention the very Pink Pub Crawl supporting the Prevent Breast Cancer cause. Sounds like Winning Teams all round!
