Stockport County Community Foundation has successfully been awarded
funding from the Equity Foundation, to set up 5 different projects for the
is to support low income families: The aims of this project are to help low
income families have the opportunity to attend free holiday provision.
This will help young people to keep fit and active during the school holidays.
Project 2 Fifty Plus Fitness Sessions in Equity’s Shelter Accommodation Schemes:
Our coaching team will be delivering light exercises to the residents of the
Equity Foundation shelter accommodation schemes. The sessions are designed to
help with mobility and give the participants the confidence to keep active. We
feel the most important aspect of the sessions being delivered are to get the
residents to interact and socialise with other residents living within the
Project 3 Summer Holiday Antisocial Behaviour Sessions: It has been
identified that areas within Equity Foundation Housing stock in Stockport have
seen an increase of antisocial behaviour in the parks across Stockport. Our
Coaches will be engaging with 11 – 18 year olds by delivering football sessions
in a fun, safe, and structured environment. The staff members delivering the
session will be seen as positive role models for many young people attending the
football sessions. Whilst the sessions are being delivered this would be a
great opportunity for other agencies to engage with the young people causing
issues on the estates.
Project 4 The Equity Foundation 5 Aside
Football Tournament: The football tournament is a great way for the wider
community to represent and engage with other members of their town/estate in a
football competition aimed at men aged 18 + participating in a football
Project 5 Disability Football & Multi Skills Sessions: The sessions are a
great way to work and deliver football and multi skills sessions within the
special schools in Stockport.
The funding received from Equity
Foundation will give many people from a wide range of different abilities and
backgrounds the opportunity to work with Stockport County Community Foundation.
