Our 'Transition Project' came to an end last Saturday here at Edgeley Park.
We were joined on the day by all the young people on the programme along with family, friends, supporting partners along with the Mayor and Mayoress of Stockport for a day of celebration and acknowledgement for the group's hard work over the eight months they have been working on the project.
This year's project was once again funded by our key funding partner The National League Trust and allowed us to continue the project that has been running for over four years. The aim is to help local children in our community make the 'Transition' from Primary School to High School and improve the children's self confidence during the possible difficult time in their development.
We set up a calendar of events which took place on the last Saturday each month which had both practical and theory based sessions. These activities ranged from orienteering around Edgeley Park to Self Confidence workshop delivered by our Learning Mentor Louise Waddington. We also once again received great support from Stockport MBC Travel Co-Ordination team who once again provided all the participants who completed the project with a free bike during the presentation, which was presented by the Mayor and Mayoress of Stockport.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has supported this project once again and made it so successful for the young people of our community.
