Stockport
County Community Foundation was proud to organise and arrange a friendly
between both of our Youth Engagement Project’s. Our ‘Goalz Project’
based in Buxton played against our Stockport ‘Youth Engagement Project’ which takes place every Monday evening at the Power League Complex, Stockport.
The
fixture was played on Friday the 24th of November in Buxton and
involved young adults aged between 11-17 years old. The match itself was played in the right spirit
with both teams playing some brilliant and entertaining football. Both teams
produced a sterling team effort and was very pleasing to see the positive impact the fixture had on all the players and staff involved.
Head of the ‘Goalz Project’ and coach Joshua Rigby-Bates said; ‘I am extremely
proud of both teams, not just because of the performance but also because of
the way they conducted themselves in a professional manner. Hopefully we can
keep moving forwards and provide more games between the two projects.’
Assistant
Manager of the Stockport County Community Foundation Matthew Bailey also commented; ‘It was great to see the group participating in a friendly football
fixture, within a structured and safe environment. This also gave the group an opportunity
to participate in their first football match. We are extremely proud with both
teams and how they conducted themselves’.
We would like to thank The National League Trust
and The Stockport Youth Offending Team for supporting two fantastic projects
