The Stockport County Community Foundation are delighted to announce a special one off Children's Initiative for this Saturday's game at Edgeley Park. The charity who work regularly with over 18,000 children and young people across Stockport, Tameside and Derbyshire have been granted kind permission to invite and organise free tickets for 8 schools in Stockport. All children who will be at the game this Saturday are welcome to join the pre match fun in the family lounge where the Community Foundation team and the dancing bears Animo and Fide will be welcoming the 7 primary schools and pupils from the Stockport Academy High School.
The children will be welcomed in the Insider suite off the Cheadle End car park and just like the whole of last season will be reunited with the Junior Supporters Club's very popular tuck shop and games. The children will be able to meet and join in interviewing County Players and receive goody bags organised with the kind help of Mr John Fitzpatrick, the Chairman of Help the Hatters.
Ian Lees, Chairman of The Stockport County Community Foundation, said, " We are over the moon that Stockport County's children's champions will all be back together again this Saturday to continue the fun we had last season. Last season saw the most successful Children's Initiative ever as we hosted 8,000 children at Edgeley Park as you can see from our video on our Home page
. Working together with John, Brenda and Ian who have championed the Juniors for many years, we enjoy ensuring future fans have a day out to remember. It was disappointing we were asked to halt this last June, however we are expecting several hundred children for our special initiative this Saturday and are very grateful to have been allowed to organise this. The Foundation is passionate about championing the cause of Stockport County in all our schools and throughout the Community ! It is a privilege to represent the County family through our work day in day out all year round."
In addition to teaching in schools and their groundbreaking disability projects and work with the vulnerable, the Community Foundation team develop close relationships with grassroots clubs and recruit and organise the ball boys and girls at Edgeley Park for league matches. This Saturday the Community Foundation therefore look forward to also welcoming Bramhall North 75 Football Club to The Family Lounge and encourage new and old supporters to join in the fun from 1.30pm. All the children and young people will hopefully cheer County on to a great result on the pitch. C'mon County!
