County Community Foundation recently entered two teams in the Ability Counts
Cup Competition. In a very entertaining and close fought final one of our teams
was victorious defeating Manchester Amputees 2-1. This is our first cup success
and hopefully will not be the last.
We were able to enter two teams in the competition
because of the increasing number of players participating in our weekly
training sessions and the great commitment shown by them. Community Foundation Disability Officer Jordan
Raynes said "It's such a great experience for the team winning a trophy
for the first time. A fantastic achievement by the players some of whom have
been with us since we started in 2010. However the most important thing is that
the players are enjoying their football. Winning is the icing on the cake"
from the glory of a cup win our teams compete in the The Pan Disability league.
The league was set up in 2010 as part of the Every Players Counts Fund. This
was an initiative put in place by the Football League Trust to provide adults
with learning and physical Impairments the opportunity to play football in a
competitive but enjoyable environment. In 2012 when the funding came to an end
the Cheshire FA asked the Community Foundation to manage the league and oversee
