Through our recent successful ‘Future County’ funding application
to The Football Conference Trust we have just completed our ‘Healthy Eating
Week’ in partnership with Moss Bank Homes. The five day course was based at
Moss Bank’s new housing Hub in Bredbury and ran for four hours each day. The
week was focused around Education and Sport with each day consisting of both
practical and theory workshops. The practical element was fun, enjoyable
coaching sessions explaining the importance of exercise and regular physical
activity in order to keep fit and active. The theory side of the project was
working with the group on all aspects of healthy eating, including nutrition, food
preparation safety etc. Each member of the group worked through their very own
healthy eating booklet and the aim of the week was for each participant to
plan, prepare and make their healthy sandwich! The week was a huge success and
made even better with our very own Stockport County Player and Coach Danny
Murray coming along, giving his knowledge and help, and even showing the group
what would be in his ‘perfect’ sandwich!! We would like to thank Vicky and Andy
from Moss Bank Homes, the Football Conference Trust and of course our very own
